K-W Chinese School Guidelines for Culture Related Courses Proposal

K-W Chinese School (KWCS) offers Chinese culture related courses for the enrichment of students’ life and strengthen their experience in Chinese culture. KWCS welcome proposals from potential instructors. In order for a course to be offered, the instructor must first write up a proposal. The coordinator of the KWCS will review the proposal in consultation with the KWCS principal and the School Volunteer Committee before the course can be offered. This document gives guidelines culture related courses and for writing the proposal. Guidelines for courses
- An academic year is divided into two terms, each lasting about 11 weeks. The first term ends in January and the second term ends in May.
- There must be more than 6 enrolled students for a course to be offered.
- The class time is usually between 11:45am – 12:45pm on Saturday when KWCS is in session.
- All instructors must provide no-criminal check at own cost. Teachers of KWCS have already satisfied this requirement.
Guidelines for writing proposalPlease cover the following in proposal. Proposals in Chinese or English or both are all welcome.
- Outline the course content
- A resume (not required for KWCS teachers)
- Target students (Suitable grade or age group) (Note: credit courses last till 12:15 pm)
- Anticipated enrollment and upper limit
- Special material and equipment required and anticipated additional cost
- Language will be used
- Space and facility requirements
- Term or terms in which the course will be offered
- Reference
